Landslide disrupts traffic due to rain-induced landslides in various places in Nepal

Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has informed that weather will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur in some places in all the provinces.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at a few places in Koshi, Madhes and Sudurpaschim provinces and one or two places in the rest of the provinces.

Given possible heavy rainfall in some places of Koshi, Madhes and Lumbini provinces, the Department has urged the general public of these areas to adopt precautionary safety measures.

Yesterday, a landslide disrupted Vehicular traffic around the Nagdhunga area of Chandragiri in Kathmandu Valley. Meanwhile, the Karnali highway was blocked due to landslides and incessant rain in Smode and Hulma in Kalikot district.

Work is underway to open the roads blocked due to floods and landslides.
