EAM Jaishankar meets with Spanish Foreign Minister at Spain-India Council Foundation in Madrid

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and Spanish Foreign Affairs Minister José Manuel Albares participated in a session on ‘Strategic Alliances for a Changing World’ at the Spain-India Council Foundation in Madrid. In a social media post on X today, Dr. Jaishankar highlighted that India-Spain collaboration is crucial in a turbulent world, strengthening the global economy and ensuring the training and mobility of talent. He also noted that Spain is a key partner in deepening India’s relations with the EU, the Mediterranean, and Latin America. Dr. Jaishankar added that governments, businesses, and institutions must work together to realise this potential and prepare for the next phase of ties.

The External Affairs Minister also exchanged views with Spain’s Defence Minister Margarita Robles. Dr. Jaishankar highlighted that the two sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the defence sector, as well as regional and global issues.”
