Benny Gantz, Member Of Israel’s Three-Man War Cabinet, Announces His Resignation

Benny Gantz, a member of Israel’s three-man war Cabinet, announced his resignation yesterday. This war cabinet was formed shortly after the Hamas attack on Israel in October, last year. Mr Gantz said the decision was made with a “heavy heart”. The move does not pose an immediate threat to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as he still maintains control over a majority coalition in parliament.

Gantz had earlier stated that he would depart from the government by 8th June unless Netanyahu devised a new strategy for postwar Gaza.
